The Thrills Keep Coming at This OC Tradition
With two thriving locations, the Pier and 30th Street, Jolly Roger has morphed into a mega attraction that never gets old. Jolly Roger’s humble beginning started in 1964 when Charles “Buddy” Jenkins opened the Arnold Palmer Putting Course and Driving Range at the now 30th Street location, gradually adding rides and other features over the years.
With 60th anniversary celebrations happening throughout 2024, this is an incredible time for a visit to Jolly Roger. Discover Splash Mountain, the number one waterpark in Maryland, and SpeedWorld®, the largest go-kart facility on the East Coast, as well as two miniature golf courses and loads of amazing rides, including the iconic Giant Wheel at the Pier. Try your hand at fun games and attempt to win the wildly popular Sunny the Seagull. Jolly Roger is the only place to win the Jolly Roger Sunny the Seagull Pirate or Sunny the Seagull Thrasher’s.
While fun goes hand-in-hand with Jolly Roger so does its support of the local community. Along with serving as a proud member of the Greater Ocean City, Maryland Chamber of Commerce, it holds a Christmas in July event that benefits Toys for Tots. On July 24-25 in 2024, if you make a $20 donation to Toys for Tots or donate an unwrapped new toy you will receive a 20% discount on all Jolly Roger Amusement Park passes. See the park decked out in Christmas decorations, get free pictures with Santa and watch a Christmas special featuring free entertainment. Jolly Roger also gives back to its employees throughout the year by offering a supportive work environment with team building events and personal recognitions.
“I would just like to thank the staff and guests for the last 60 years,” says Steve Pastusak, Vice President of Jolly Roger Amusement Parks. “Also Mr. Jenkins for the vision to provide family fun for all of these 60 years. I can’t wait for the next 60 because without Jolly Roger it’s just another day at the beach!”
Jolly Roger’s Black Friday Sale, its best deal of the year, will occur on Friday, November 29, 2024 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Get 50% off all passes by purchasing them in-person only at the Speed World building at 30th Street. The passes never expire!
Tips: Take advantage of the free parking at the 30th Street park. All of the daytime and nighttime armbands allow you to double dip at both parks. Daytime armbands include free mini golf. Enjoy daytime at the Pier 1 p.m.–5p.m. and at 30th Street 2p.m.–6 p.m.; nighttime at the Pier and 30th Street 7 p.m.–11 p.m.
