Pier Fishing in Ocean City

Ocean City’s piers are located along the Atlantic Ocean and inland bays. To pier fish in Ocean City, anglers will need to follow the rules and regulations set forward by the Maryland Department of Natural Resources. A Maryland Saltwater Fishing License is not required for pier fishing but is for fishing on the beach.

Where to Pier Fish in Ocean City

Here is where you can cast a line off a fishing pier in Ocean City.

9th Street Pier

The 9th Street Fishing Pier is a public fishing pier located along the Isle of Wight Bay. In addition to the pier, anglers can take advantage of the fish cleaning tables, equipped with hoses, to clean their catch before they bring it home.

Convention Center Park

Attend an event at the Roland E. Powell Convention Center, or just head to the back of the building for some fishing. Behind Ocean City’s convention center has a pier for public use. The bay-side pier provides free access for both fishing and crabbing.

Northside Park

Northside Park offers two fishing piers. The large park, located off of 125th Street, is a great place for family fun outside. The whole family can cast a line or catch crabs off this free public fishing pier, into the bay. No license is required for either piers.

OC Fishing Pier

Situated along the Atlantic Ocean, near the southern end of the Ocean City Boardwalk, is the OC Fishing Pier. Reel in fish right from the ocean when you fish from the OC Fishing Pier. The pier sees regular catches of striped bass, bluefish, croaker, sand perch, sea trout, kingfish, spot, cobia and more. The OC Fishing Pier does not require a fishing license but there is a fee for daily use.

Oceanic Fishing Pier

Just across from the OC Fishing Pier is the Oceanic Fishing Pier, along the bayside. This pier is open both day and night. The pier features a shop where you can purchase bait and tackle, as well as snacks and drinks. A fishing license is not required to fish off the Oceanic Fishing Pier, however there is a fee for daily use.
