Honoring the legacy of one of their own
The Jolly Roger team is sadden to share the passing of Steve Pastusak, who served as vice president at the park for nearly 30 years. They wish to commemorate his life and his significant contributions to Jolly Roger Amusement Parks through the decades. A true family man, Steve was steadfast in prioritizing his home life, and continuously displayed his unwavering love and support of his wife and four children in countless ways such as coaching his kids’ youth sports teams and planning incredible family adventures. Steve’s commitment and positivity was also felt firsthand by his Jolly Roger work family. A longtime leader at Jolly Roger, Steve was an exemplary source of inspiration, generosity and kindness. Steve also brought many good laughs to the team with his gregarious personality, which was probably best displayed by the bold, colorful outfits he enjoyed wearing to events. No doubt, Steve’s legacy will live on at Jolly Roger Park and in his community, with all who knew him remembering and appreciating their time shared with such a special person. Even so, Steve surely will be missed tremendously.

Steve played a key role in the beloved amusement park’s milestone achievement of reaching its 60th anniversary in 2024, and today Jolly Roger’s two locations, the Pier and 30th Street, continue to thrive. A Ocean City tradition for more than 60 years, Jolly Roger has been entertaining families since 1964 when Charles “Buddy” Jenkins opened the Arnold Palmer Putting Course and Driving Range at the now 30th Street location. Throughout the years attractions have been added and the park grows bigger and better.

Nominated as one of the contenders on the list for USA Today 20BEST lazy rivers, Splash Mountain Water Park is a top attraction at Jolly Roger. With the purchase of entry, guests can swim with the mermaids at Splash Mountain. Families will also enjoy Jolly Roger Mini Golf with two themed miniature golf courses—Jungle Golf and Treasure Golf—and variety of ride attractions, including the Giant Wheel at the Pier and its stunning views. For thrill seekers, SpeedWorld , the largest go-kart facility on the East Coast, is a must-do. Check out the five-story Cyclone wooden coaster at SpeedWorld. Jolly Roger also features free entertainment, including a circus, Lollipop the Clown and Dave the Pirate, all at the 30th Street location. Don’t forget about the slew of fun games, where park goers can try to win the perpetually popular Sunny the Seagull prize (either the Jolly Roger Sunny the Seagull Pirate or Sunny the Seagull Thrasher’s), available only at Jolly Roger.
WITHOUT JOLLY ROGER® , IT’S JUST ANOTHER DAY AT THE BEACH!
