Nick’s Mini Golf Opens New Mini Golf and Ropes Course Adventure
Nick’s Mini Golf is known for its fun miniature golf courses spread throughout Ocean City, Maryland and Delaware Beaches, and it recently added a new exciting adventure for families to experience—a ropes course, the first in OCMD! “It’s all about doing something new,” says owner Nick Geracimos. “We worked to build off our current business, which has been mini golf for the past nine seasons and because spacing is tight, I thought, ‘well, we have to go up.’”
With a grand opening in spring 2024, Nick’s 21st St. Jurassic Golf & Ropes Course offers guests the opportunity to play miniature golf, climb the ropes course or do both. Rather than adding to a previous mini golf location, Geracimos found a new property with sufficient space to house the multi-faceted attraction. “I thought about doing a ropes course so a wide range of people and demographics could experience it,” says Geracimos. “If they are playing mini golf, then they could do this, too.”
The ropes course is two levels high and features 26 obstacle stations, which are each about 20 feet long. From the second level, participants get to witness incredible views of Ocean City, including both the Atlantic Ocean and the Isle of Wight Bay, as well as up and down bustling Coastal Highway. “It’s a good opportunity to try something new,” says Geracimos. “Once you see other people do it, then you understand better how it works.”
So how does the ropes course work? The course uses a 7-pole system and when participants enter at the bottom level they get hooked into a harness, which they remain secured in until exiting the course. Once locked in, then it’s free play! “After doing the training, I got really excited and thought ‘this is going to work,’” admits Geracimos. “It should be fun for all ages.”
As for height requirements, those 48” or taller can participate on their own, and those between 42” to 47” tall can participate with an adult chaperone.
The Jurassic mini golf at this location is also a must do. The new miniature golf course features interactive dinosaurs in a captivating atmosphere, including massive rocks, water elements and other eye-catching displays.
A snack bar offers a selection of tasty treats including ice cream, sodas, teas and more. Spectators not participating in mini golf or the ropes climbing activities are welcome to grab a seat on the rooftop deck and observe the fun from up above.
