This is all the more reason for planning a visit, as the Town is commemorating this historic achievement by celebrating with exciting events and numerous anniversary-related activities throughout the year.

Certainly, Ocean City’s history runs much deeper than surf and sand. This beloved coastal community has grown tremendously over the past 150 years, transforming from a tiny fishing village to a thriving resort town. Today’s Ocean City continues on as a top vacation destination, drawing back visitors year after year; a cherished place of countless lifelong memories for so many.

The 150 Years of Ocean City, including 150 Days of Celebrations, pays homage to the town’s history and heritage while applauding its sunny future. Events of all kinds—from major festivals such as Sunfest and Winterfest to many other family-friendly events—will feature fun, family-friendly anniversary-related activities. In partnership with the Ocean City Life-Saving Station Museum, a monthly Mobile Museum will travel around town to various events and showcase interesting artifacts and stories about the Town’s history.

In late August, the Summer Send-Off event will feature hot air balloons, giant kites and a laser show the entire family will love. And a perfect complement to the 150th anniversary milestone, the new Rising Tides Festival will debut on Nov. 22. Visitors and locals are invited to come celebrate Ocean City and the love of beach life, while enjoying live performances of favorite hits spanning the decades, plus an array of interactive activities.
