While Ocean City’s award-winning boardwalk is a “must” for your vacation, don’t be afraid to venture north of the boards and experience North Ocean City. This area begins at 91st Street and continues on to the Delaware border at 146th Street. The northside area has just as much to do, with a little more peace and quiet. Your time here will be filled with all the fun and memories you expect from an OC vacation.
Ocean City has a number of parks with all types of activities available, and many of these parks are located in North Ocean City. Northside Park, on 125th Street, is the perfect place for a jog, bike ride, to walk your dog and experience other family fun. With 58 acres, it is Ocean City’s largest park. It includes a playground, baseball/softball fields, a soccer field, picnic shelter, plus indoor facilities and more. Northside Park is also the site of several free events throughout the year such as seasonal movie nights, Sundaes in the Park, July 4th Concert and Fireworks, and the Winterfest of Lights.
Fiesta Park is another park with nature trails and picnic areas. Located on 141st Street, this quiet, forested area provides a calm retreat from the lively beach scene and the hot sun. At Little Salisbury Park, on 94th Street, you will find a children’s playground, a dog playground, a basketball court and two tennis courts.
If a picnic at the park isn’t really your style, then check out the variety of eateries in North Ocean City where you can indulge in our famous East Coast seafood fresh from the docks. North Ocean City isn’t limited to just seafood. Try ethnic cuisines, sizzling steaks, pizza, burgers, sandwiches and barbecue pit beef. Follow your delicious meal with some local dessert favorites. You can’t beat a late-night trip to one of the old-fashioned ice cream parlors. Then, continue to satisfy your sweet tooth with a dozen donuts in the morning.
Shopping is another big draw for visitors to Ocean City. Whether you’re looking for a new outfit for a night on the town or souvenirs to bring back for friends, there are dozens of boutiques, stores and even a mall in North OC. From saltwater taffy to designer jewelry and bikinis to surfboards, you’ll find it all here!
Test your skill on an elaborate mini golf course filled with obstacles and challenging hole designs. Rain or shine, you can play on the indoor and outdoor courses available.
