About the Oceanic Fishing Pier

The Oceanic Fishing Pier is a staple to Ocean City fishing. The pier is located at the southern end of the Ocean City Boardwalk, near the Ocean City Inlet, Jolly Roger at the Pier, Trimer’s Amusements and more.

The pier is open day and night, offering a different type of fishing experience for anglers of all ages and abilities in Ocean City.

Fishing on the Oceanic Fishing Pier

A fishing license is not required for the Oceanic Fishing Pier. When fishing off the pier, you’ll have the opportunity to reel in flounder, rockfish, bluefish, croakers, shad and much more. Be sure to check Maryland’s fishing regulations before you bait your hook.

Find all of your fishing essentials, including bait and tackle, as well as snacks and drinks from the shop at the pier. A fishing report can be found on the Oceanic Pier website. This gives anglers an update on water temperature and what types of fish are in the water.

Daily pass for 12 hours: $10

Three-day pass: $20

Weekly pass: $40

Seven-day pass: $45

Rod/reel rental: $10

When you’re finished fishing on the Oceanic Fishing Pier, be sure to check out the other popular attractions and activities nearby. The southern end of the boardwalk, near the Inlet, offers several  sweet treats and a few pizza places, including The Dough Roller and Candy Kitchen. These, as well as some of Ocean City’s famous Thrasher’s Fries, can be the perfect snack before or after experiencing the exciting rides and attractions at Jolly Roger at the Pier.
